1) Visit the beaches

Another destination you can't miss is the Selarón Staircase. Built by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, it has 215 steps filled with mosaics of colored tiles. The author's style is unmistakable, and the staircase is an open-air work of art.

Lapa also features an agitated nightlife, with numerous bars, nightclubs and restaurants of varied styles.

3) Learn to samba
