Rio de Janeiro is a big city, beautiful in natural landscapes and rich in culture. There are many options of what to do in Rio, and those who think that the tourist experience is limited to knowing the Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer are mistaken!
The Carnival Experience listed 3 activities that you can not let to do in the city:
1) Visit the beaches
It sounds cliché, but if even the cariocas love the beaches, the tourists must check this attraction. The sands of Rio de Janeiro have a proper style, stripped like the locals and of relaxed energy. And what about the visual? We don't even need to talk!
If you prefer to stay in the South Zone, we have excellent options such as Copacabana, Leme, Ipanema, Leblon and Praia Vermelha. However, the West Zone is not left behind with the beautiful beaches of Barra, Recreio, Grumari, among others.
2) Get to know Lapa
The region of Lapa, downtown, is home of bohemia. The Arcos da Lapa (Lapa Arches) are an unmissable stop with unique architecture.
Another destination you can't miss is the Selarón Staircase. Built by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, it has 215 steps filled with mosaics of colored tiles. The author's style is unmistakable, and the staircase is an open-air work of art.
Lapa also features an agitated nightlife, with numerous bars, nightclubs and restaurants of varied styles.

3) Learn to samba
You didn't count for that, did you? Why not leave Rio de Janeiro sambando like a Carioca? So you take a little bit of the city to wherever you are! In Rio, samba is on every corner and in the most diverse forms of celebration.
The Carnaval Experience is located at the Cidade do Samba and is the perfect place for you to participate in a samba workshop with a professional dancer. Is impossible not to dance!
There you also learn the history of the musical genre and the carioca carnival in a light and fun way. Then you can enjoy all other tourist experiences more intensely. Come and visit us: schedule your tour!
